fbd-battle-cats

Original drawing for the Fudebakudo book’s “Battle-Cats of Burma”, with digital fix.

This illustration of the nonsensical story about the warriors of ancient Myanmar hurling cats before engaging in combat got into the book with not one but two mistakes in it. Due to a small layout error I made in QuarkXPress, when this went into the book I managed to crop the cat’s tail off with the whitespace padding of the page’s title.

But that’s nothing compared to giving the defender a right hand on his left arm :-/ Inexcusable. I’ve fixed it here (that is, it’s not wrong in this image), but in the version that went into the book (page 48) I somehow goofed the raised hand despite almost certainly self-posing it at the time, and spending hours checking and re-checking everything before going to print.
