Magentabeard the Pirate:

Harhar, what have we here? Guards sleeping on the deck? Mercenaries perhaps? ...er, no... well, never mind: the boat's high in the water... and if the boat's high in the water, then the hold must be empty... and if the hold is empty, then the stock must have all be sold... and if the stock has all been sold, then there must be the takings somewhere on board. We'll have a search - the boys like a good search, stoving doors in, kicking tables over, that sort of thing. If the people won't put up any resistance at least we can give the furniture a good beating. I'm not going to have people say that Magentabeard roams the Seven Seas and terrorises the merchants by boarding them gently. It does my reputation no good, this sort of non-resistance.
