The Concuspidor:

Well, this is the life. Or, it would be if the diet was a bit more varied. And we had a Captain who could navigate properly. There ought to be some sort of warning posted in the docks about the risks of requisitioning boats with incompetent masters. If we had someone here who knew how to sail properly we would have been at the island by now. He is a very moody sailor, and if nothing else he'll have learnt not to keep all the ship's charts in one chest. One little moment of over-excitement over a trivial point and now because of his failure to stow the navigational papers wisely we all have to suffer. It really is so unprofessional. The problem of being an adventurer is that so much of the time one is dependent on those who are not.
